Lena Capital is a specialist independent advisory company founded in 2020 by two former investment bankers with over 30 years of collective experience in banking and financial services. Their specialist skills were acquired working on some of the largest projects and deals in South Africa. Lena Capital’s offering is aimed at creating tailored investment solutions in Infrastructure, Utilities, Energy, the Built Environment and Broad-Based Black Empowerment Deal Structures.

We provide critical thinking and facilitation of access to capital by pairing those with a need for capital to those who have a mandate to provide capital. Director - Mabuse Moja
Mabuse holds a BSc Property Studies (Hons) degree and an MSc in Building both from the University of the Witwatersrand. Mabuse has experience across various disciplines within the financial sector ranging from investment management to real estate investment. Mabuse began his career in 2007 with Nedbank Corporate in the Property Finance division as a Candidate Valuer.

Thereafter, he joined Investec Bank as an Investment Analyst with a specific focus on listed property. In his time with Investec he worked across the bank’s property and asset management divisions, a role he fulfilled for several years. He later joined the Wealth & Investment division where he took up the role of joint Portfolio Manager of the private client listed property mandate. In 2016, Mabuse participated in the Pivotal Fund’s policy to initiate and implement a broad-based black economic empowerment strategy, based on the sale of assets principles, which resulted in the formation of Setso Property Fund, under the ambit of Statement 102 of the BEE legislation. This a company in which he would take up the position of Executive Director.

Director - Marvin Nair
Marvin holds a BSc degree and BCom (Hons) from the University of Cape Town and a Higher Diploma in Financial Management from Damelin. His professional designations include being a CFA Charterholder and Royal Chartered Surveyor MRICS.
He is also a member of the Investment Analyst Society and CFA South Africa . Marvin also completed the Bank SETA Executive Leadership Development Programme through Duke Corporate Education.
He joined the Mining and Resources team at RMB and was later promoted to Team Lead of the credit analyst team. In 2006, Marvin changed his focus to real estate and was exposed to equity (co-investment with clients), mezzanine debt and senior debt funding. He was also instrumental in the expansion of Firstrand’s directly held real estate portfolio. In 2011 he was approached to join Standard Bank’s growing real estate team. During 2014 he was promoted to Executive heading up the New Business Team. He has gained exposure to the following: mixed use developments, office developments, hotels and structured transactions such as share cover deals, corporate finance, listings, debt and equity capital markets solutions. His client base consists of some of the largest REITs, unlisted portfolios and private developers.
